St. Stephen’s Lutheran Academy North is dedicated to providing a positive, safe, and nurturing learning community. Every interaction with a student is considered an opportunity to help them learn, grow, and heal.
Our credentials speak to innovative, educational leadership; in 2014, St. Stephen’s Academy was recognized as a model school for the Pennsylvania School-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports program. We also participate in the Sanctuary Model of trauma-informed care, as certified by the Sanctuary Institute at the Andrus Children’s Center.
St. Stephen’s Academy North enables students to succeed with extra intervention through a therapeutic approach. Students in our program typically impede the learning of other students in the traditional setting.
Our classrooms begin with a ratio that makes it possible to provide extra intervention and instruction: first through eighth grade have one teacher and one teaching assistant per 12 students; and kindergarten has one teacher and teaching assistant per 8 students. Classroom instruction makes use of SMART boards, iPads, and laptops; our innovative technology aligns with a curriculum that adheres to common core standards.
